This Saturday--February 27, 2016--at 12:30 PM, the City of Plainfield's Mural Arts Program will unveil the work of Sterling Brown at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Queen's Courtyard, located at the space of 112-16 East Front Street and 107-17 Park Avenue. As noted in a press release from November of 2015, the public art project is designed to highlight Plainfield's downtown and the diversity of the city. Sterling Brown, the prolific artist, sculptor, and comic book illustrator, designed the mural. Click on the link here, Sterling Brown, to learn more about this amazing artist. The Plainfield Democratic City Committee has set up a screening subcommittee to interview prospective candidates to run on the Democratic line in the June Primary Election. Two seats are open: the Citywide At-large seat and the 3rd Ward seat.
As stated at the meeting, anyone interested in running on the Democratic line must send a letter of interest by Wednesday, February 10 to email@example.com in order to be considered. The chairperson of the screening committee is 3rd Vice Chair Joylette Mills-Ransome. The screening committee will set up interviews and make a recommendation to Chairman Mapp after the interviews are completed. Visit the website of the PDCC by clicking on the link below:
