Community Movie Night Under the Stars at Rushmore Playground!

Scene from Annie--the girls singing "It's a Hard Knock Life"
Last night, I attended the first Community Movie Night at Rushmore Playground, sponsored by the Plainfield Division of Parks and Recreation. We watched Annie under the stars! Although rain threatened early, by 7:50 pm, the sky cleared up.* A small but hardy crowd of adults and children enjoyed the movie--with a beautifully crisp image and fantastic sound. Next week (Thursday, July 9, starting at 8:30 pm), also at Rushmore Playground, the film shown will be Alexander and the No Good, Horrible, Very Bad Day. Recreation promises FREE fresh-popped popcorn, so bring lawn chairs, bring the kids, and enjoy movies under the stars! There is nothing like it!

The following week (July 16), community movie night moves to Hannah Atkins Playground for two weeks--here is the schedule! Also, next week there will be free fresh-popped popcorn!!!!

*Recreation notes that, if rain threatens, the division will make the determination to postpone by 8:00 pm. The rain date is scheduled for the following evening (Friday).
