Earned Sick Days Ordinance Up for 2nd Reading Tonight

Analilia Mejia, Director of Working Families Alliance
I am once again posting links to the Working Families Alliance and the Working Families United for New Jersey site, respectively, which provide more information on the earned sick days ordinance (MC 2015-07) that is on the Plainfield City Council's agenda for second reading this evening. Thus far, Jersey City, Newark, Paterson, Passaic, East Orange, Irvington, and a couple of others have passed ordinances to protect workers by providing earned sick days. Plainfield should be in the vanguard of protecting public health, and also by ensuring that workers receive the same protections that many of us already have. This ordinance speaks to the concern that a community should have for all its workers--it is PRO-WORKER AND PRO-BUSINESS. I believe that earned sick days are good for the state, as well as good  for our city.

  1. Thanks Council women Williams you are the only one that stand for what's right in Plainfield. I appreciate your leadership. I really hope you can convince your other colleagues to support this.

  2. I think Bloomfield just passed this. Why doesn't someone on the council (who is opposed to this ordinance) call them and ask why?
