Plainfield Snow Emergency News

Dear Plainfield,

Our Public Safety Director Riley has apprised us of the state of readiness for our Police and Fire Divisions, as well as the Office of Emergency Management, in terms of our storm preparation. Director Riley notes that the Department of Public Works has pre-salted the streets, and the city equipment and personnel are prepared and available. All police and fire equipment and vehicles are on stand-by and ready for response. Union County will be placing an additional ambulance in the city to assist in any needed emergency response.

In the event of a power outage, Emerson Community School (305 Emerson Avenue) and the YMCA (518 Watchung Avenue) will be available for residents. Emerson School has been designated as a warming center--Public Safety is ready to assist any residents who need help getting there.

As all have been notified via the Plainfield Mass Communication System of the state of emergency, please remove your cars from the roads so that emergency vehicles can get through.

Best,

Rebecca
