Play Ball! Opening Day of Plainfield Baseball League!

Plainfield's future baseball heroes with their coaches!
On Saturday morning, I had the pleasure of attending the opening day of the Plainfield Baseball League. For those of you who remember the contentiousness and divisiveness caused by the previous administration and their cronies, today marked the beginning of a great season--a unified league focused on ONE PLAINFIELD. The kids were excited, and it was a great day! Let the games begin!

  1. Great to see everyone together. Nice picture of you and Nancy - and everyone else.

Of course, Rebecca, you need to make sure you thank Jerry for this. After all, Jerry solves all problems. Kinda like God.

  2. I am new to Plainfield. Where are the games played, and how can i get my grandson involved? Thank you.

    1. Hi, Jessica--the games are played at the Joe Black, Jr. Baseball Complex, on Rock Avenue and Myrtle. The Spring registration for this year has passed, unfortunately, but your grandson can still get involved in recreation activities. You should drop by the Plainfield Division of Recreation, located at 510 Watchung Avenue (between 5th and 6th Street)--the building right next to the YMCA on Monday - Friday from 9 am - 5 pm to see what other programs he can get involved in. Cut and paste the link below to be taken to the Recreation Division's web page--scroll to the bottom and see some upcoming events. But also feel free to drop by--there's a brand new Recreation Superintendent who is updating some programs and who will be adding new ones--for kids of all ages. Welcome to Plainfield!
