Citywide Notification System in Place--Opt in Now!

Hi, everyone,

The Nixle system will now be used in Plainfield to notify residents about emergencies, weather conditions, and traffic issues via text messages and email. Below is the press release that discusses the system (which is used in thousands of municipalities nationwide) in more detail. You can opt-in now--just text 07060 to 888777 to receive the notifications--it takes just seconds! You can also sign up to receive notices via email! It's been a long time coming, and I want to thank Police Director Carl Riley for getting it done so quickly!

  1. Checked it out and signed up. Thank you for the tip!

  2. I signed up on the 26th when I saw it in the Star Ledger. It's a great system. My husband takes Hillcrest Ave and the alert that it was closed during the snow saved a lot of stress from getting there and being turned around.
